Objectives
1. Contribute to the teaching professional quality and ethics, based on scientific rigor and critical reflection.
2. Enable the understanding of the educational reality and the resolution of problems related to professional practice through the development of investigative attitudes and skills.
3. Promote excellence in the domain of contents related to the teaching area, as well as in their mobilization in teaching contexts.
4. Support the development of educational practices sensitive to the students' characteristics, based on the knowledge of their development and social context.
5. Framing the teaching of Informatics in current educational policies, taking into account international references.
6. Stimulate reflection on the importance of Informatics teaching in contemporary and multicultural societies, in the light of inclusion and citizenship principles.
7. Promote familiarity with educational organizations, as well as the ability to work in different types of teams.
Access Requirements
The following may apply to the study cycle:
a) graduates in Informatics (with 120 ECTS in Informatics, according to Decree-Law no. 79/2014, of 14 May) or legal equivalent.
b) other candidates who meet the entry requirements required by the legal regime of professional qualification for teaching (candidates with 75% of the credits in Informatics, who may complete them during the Master's course, being conditioned to this conclusion the enrollment in the Didactics and Initiation to Professional Practice (IPP), according to article 18, points 5 and 6 of the same decree);
c) read, write and speak Portuguese well (evaluated through an oral interview and a written exam (minimum 9,5 values).

Learning Outcomes
1. Consolidate the domain of essential concepts for the development of educational informatics in an educational context.
2. Develop skills of research and reflection, mobilizing them in the study of contexts of initiation into professional practice.
3. Develop skills of design and implementation of teaching practices supported by a thorough knowledge of curriculum content, specific didactics, and characteristics of students.
4. Understand the importance of teaching Informatics in contemporary and multicultural societies.
5. Improve communication and collaborative work skills, enhanced by a solid knowledge of educational organizations, the rules that govern them and the social dynamics that affect them.
6. Recognize ethical, deontological, social, and political implications of the exercise of the teaching profession, relating them to issues of citizenship.
